The Bloom Table Light’s super-elliptical form is inspired by the gentle dynamic flow of paper lanterns. Its glorious lit effect is the result of transparency and light. Two contrasting materials – a finely perforated mesh core and frosted blown glass, combine to project a soft focus texture onto the inside of the shade.
Sitting atop a plated stainless steel base, Bloom’s distinct character is evident both in its on and off state, creating a versatile table light.

About the Brand
Established in 2011 by Simon James and Scott Bridgens, Resident is a globally focussed design company from New Zealand.
Resident works with a select group of talent across multiple disciplines including industrial design, architecture, furniture design and sculpture. Each designer’s instinct for experimentation keeps the group fluid and adaptive to new technologies, while also cementing our reputation for innovation.
As makers of furniture and lighting for both commercial and residential spaces, Resident’s practice spans multiple scales and contexts. Three founding beliefs guide this work:
Design for how we live today
Resident places human needs and desires at the centre of it all. Our collective understanding is that an object should improve the everyday. We design products that help you to host, work, share, recharge, relax and collapse.
Craftsmanship as luxury
As architects of objects, our interpretation of value begins with craftsmanship. We carefully consider detail, push the limits of material, and are inspired by the elemental forms found in nature.
Each design is a living representation of the time and application of skills that’s involved in making an object functional and beautiful.
Built to transcend a lifetime
Design that is resilient and admired; cared for long after its first owner. We consider structural harmony and account for how a piece of furniture might endure wear and tear during the course of its life.
